Beneficial Algebra

April 17th, 2009

Algebra is the one which is used for getting our daily tasks accomplished. The mankind forever continues counting, measuring, dividing, and multiplying.

History of Algebra

Invented in the first millennium BC, algebra has its sources in the middle-east. The ancient geniuses applied algebra for solving daily problems while the Asian or rather Chinese counterpart applied geometry for the same purpose

The Nature of Algebra

Although you may see algebra as solving formulas , simplifying rational expressions, and converting fractions to decimals, algebra is one of the sciences that has the to the highest degree of applicability when it comes to practice. Since this aspect has been understood, the education system pressures us to study algebra from the inception of our student life.

Algebra I

The students are given an introduction in this study course to numbers, solving linear equations, graphing systems of linear equations, graphing linear inequalities, laws of exponents, resolving linear equations, and factoring polynomials. This is the groundwork stage course of study for all the other stages of algebra.
If a student is keen on learning algebra down to its roots, then this is a subject area course of study that should be undertaken well.

Algebra II

Once the pupils are sound with Algebra I concepts, Algebra II can be taken up for widening the spectrum of this remarkable segment of mathematics. There are two aspects of Algebra II; emphasizing more on the topics studied in Algebra I and foundation to new constructs. When it comes to the new introductions, adding and subtracting matrices, quadratic functions, resolving exponential equations, probability and statistics are notable.
In this plane of study, students are required to stress more on the core constructs.

College Algebra

This is one of the most key levels of learning Algebra with virtually no new topic brought in. I assume it is quite ironic, but this is the nature of mathematics. Mathematics is named the queen of all sciences. Do you know why? That’s because of the unpredictable nature of maths!

How to get aid on Algebra?

There are many methods and tools accessible for getting aid for Algebra disciplines. The first and the foremost primary source is an Algebra tutor from whom you can get help and assistance.
In addition to the above methods, one should never undervalue the use of Algebra software that is especially designed to solve algebraic problems with informative steps. This software package really adds insight in to Algebraic procedures of solving equations , by allowing pupils to simply watch and learn through exercises.

How to Buy a LCD TV with HDTV

April 14th, 2009

If this doesn’t get you excited, then nothing will. LCD TVs have become all the rage and there is nothing better than a big screen TV. And when you couple LCD TV with HD TV, look out. An amazing physical display combined with a fantastic output. This is what is happening in LCD TV technology today.

If you are like most people looking to replace your TV, you’ve probably been paying close attention to High Definition Television sets (HD-TV). Unlike the previous generation of TV, which used analog signals to transmit information, HD-TVs use digital signals to transmit a signal and receive and display information directly on the television set. The HD-TVs also use a High-Resolution digital television set and Dolby Digital surround sound. The combination of the two creates incredible pictures and sounds - the best available on the market to date. HD-TV television offers viewers a level of detail they haven’t seen before: including a resolution about five times higher than that of analog TV.

The main thing to remember when you are shopping for HD-TV set is that just because a television is “digital” it does not mean it is necessarily “HD-TV compatible”. There are two levels below the HD level (standard definition TV and enhanced definition TV), both of which are vastly better than analog televisions but still of considerably lower quality than an LCD TV- HD-TV set. Since the FCC has mandated that all television sets eventually switch from analog to digital, you should know the differences between the different types of digital TVs.

Here are some tips. When looking to purchase an HD-TV, remember to compare the difference in picture resolution, audio features, and pixels. HD-TV requires a minimum of 720 horizontal scanning lines (enhanced definition TV, while considerably higher than standard definition TV, only features a minimum of 480 scanning lines) and the resolution on an HD-TV is 1920 x 1080 compared to enhanced definition TV, which only has a resolution of 1280 x 780.

When you experience a HD-TV image and then compare it to other TVs’ technology on the market, the difference will be clear. With “HD” everything looks and sounds far more realistic than on any other type of system. We think that once you see a big screen LCD TV with HD-TV, the choice will be clear.

This is just the tip of the iceberg when looking for a HD LCD TV. In fact, many of the most important tips haven’t been mentioned here. Learn about LCD TVs before making a purchase.

Robotic Vacuum Cleaners, Sit Back, Relax and Let Them Do the Work

April 14th, 2009

As technology continues to develop, life becomes easier and there are more choices. Not only are computers developing at breakneck speeds, but even household appliances such as vacuum cleaners are evolving. Have you even heard of a robot vacuum, well you will soon enough. What are robotic vacuum cleaners, these battery powered creatures roam the floors of your home or office looking for dust and debris. They are designed to make life easier for you by vacuuming any dirt in its path.

Robot vacuums were invented by Electrolux and introduced into the consumer marketplace in 2001, then came Roomba vacuums, they perfected these cordless vacs and took them to the next level. So what can these types of vacuums do for you? Imagine this scenario, you come from a hard day at work, the kids come home with dirt all over their shoes tracking it all over your clean carpets. That would drive most parents crazy, but with the help of the Roomba vac you can read your newspaper and lets the robot do all the work for you.

You’re probably wondering how this all work? Roomba’s vacuum cleaners use a 3 stage cleaning system, that are designed to clean the edge of your walls, under neath all types of furniture and anywhere else it detects dirt. That’s right these robots can actually detect dirty areas on your carpet or floor and do extra cleaning in those areas to clean it effectively. And these vacuums actually have a brain, they can detect areas such as stairs and actually avoid them! They use infrared sensors to detect the stairs in your home and stay away from them.

And after the room is cleaned, Roomba goes back to a recharging station to charge its battery for the next time you have a family disaster. You should know that Roomba isn’t the only company manufacturing robotic vacuum systems, other models you might want to check out include, Electrolux Trilobite, Karcher RC 3000, EVac and the Samsung VC-RP30W. The most popular of all robot vacs is the Roomba Discovery SE.

Why stress out if you don’t have to, let the robots do the work for you. Long gone are the days of vacuuming after the children. Oh, and if you’re wondering about the price of a robot vac it will run you about $350. Check prices out online to find the best deals and cheapest prices on all your cleaning needs.

Purchasing a Vacuum Cleaner

April 14th, 2009

It’s time for you to purchase a new vacuum cleaner. Yet, with all the different types of vacuum cleaners available, how do you know that you are getting the best buy for your money? There are a number of things you need to consider in addition to cost when you are purchasing a vacuum cleaner. Let’s take a look at some of them.

First, when you are looking at vacuum cleaners you will need to consider what you are purchasing the vacuum cleaner for. For instance, do you plan on using your vacuum cleaner in the home or in the garage? If it is the latter, you may want to consider an industrial vacuum cleaner like a ShopVac. ShopVacs are good for both wet and dry surfaces and are therefore ideal for outside use. Conversely, if you are looking at vacuum cleaners for indoor use, you might want to consider a different brand that is suitable for a variety of vacuuming needs.

Next, you will want to determine if you want an upright or a canister vacuum. Upright vacuums are easier to push, but they may not be easier to work with when you are vacuuming stairs. Therefore, if you decide to purchase an upright vacuum, you will also want to consider what type of attachments it comes with. If you purchase an upright vacuum with few attachments, you may want to purchase a small, hand held vacuum to use for areas like stairs.

In terms of purchasing an upright vacuum, if you purchase a broom vacuum you may be disappointed. Broom vacuums have less power than other upright versions and are only meant for light jobs. Therefore, if you are looking for an indoor vacuum that can handle heavy duty cleaning, stick to the standard upright vacuum and keep away from the stick and broom varieties. For those individuals that have allergies, considering the types of filtration system is pretty important. Of course, if you are purchasing a vacuum cleaner with a filtration system you can expect to pay more, but consider the alternative without it. Filtration systems help reduce the pollen, dust and other irritating particles in the air and for those individuals with allergies a filtration system can make all the difference in the world. Therefore, spending the extra cash for a filtration system is not necessarily a bad idea.

Finally, for those with sensitive hearing, you may want to consider the level of noise produced by the vacuum cleaner you are considering. Remember, you will be using it on a regular basis and you will therefore want something that creates minimum discomfort to your ears and nerves. Read the packaging closely to determine if the vacuum you are purchasing is the right one for you.

Big Judgments on Little Information - Understanding How Your Customers Think

April 10th, 2009

Your consumers are bombarded
everyday with thousands of brand images and sales pitches. “In order to survive
the onslaught of choices, consumers make snap judgments.”

I read this in a book that was recommended to me entitled All Marketers Are
Liars
. What’s fascinating about most of us is that we consistently make judgments
on very little information. In effect, consumers absorb little bits of information
(like seeing your logo or business card) and then make judgments and predictions
about your business based on the little input they’ve been exposed
to.

Don’t believe me?

Well, have you ever made up your mind about a political candidate without ever
meeting her/him? How about picking a movie based on the ads in the paper? If you
shop online, do you make a decision on how reputable the company is based on their
Web site? Yep, we all make snap decisions. This is the reason
that speed dating has been so popular and effective for peoplewe all make
snap judgments based on a first impression.

The truth is, that often, based on a first impression, we consumers make up our
minds instantlyand according to All Marketers Are Liars, consumers
stick to those decisions like a barnacle on a sailboat
. Once the snap
decision has been made, consumers seek out information that supports their snap
judgments and ignore information that doesn’t. For consumers, this approach saves
an immense amount of time and keeps them from going nuts; for savvy business owners,
this screams, “My first impression better be a good one.”

So what does all this mean to you?

This is why having a professional, marketing-focused and consistent business
identity is so important
. The truth is, your customers make snap judgments,
and once those decisions are made, they are tough to change. So you want to make
certain that the first impression your customers might receive from you (business
card, logo, phone call from you, Web site, brochure, signage, etc) is the impression
that you want to send to them.

Water ionizers - every home needs one

April 8th, 2009

You are able at this point to make the most of one of the most important and abundant natural resources of our planet - Water. The majority of our body is comprised of about 70% water and our brain is composed of about 80% water. A large portion of our body’s functions are regulated by water, the pH balance, the waste removal system, the body’s temperature are all affected heavily by our water intake, both the amount and the quality.

You can drink normal tap water, but then you will be losing out on almost all its benefits and you will also be receiving many things that you would not get in ionized water, unfortunately none of those things are beneficial to your health, in fact they can endanger your health. Water ionizers are different to water filters because the water you get from an ionizer has undergone an improving scientific alteration, while a filter merely filters out harmful elements from your tap water.

Water undergoes a scientific process to become alkalized, micro-clustered and ionized. This process occurs within the actual ionizers. This is a unit that is attached to your kitchen water supply and will dispense ionized water at the touch of a button. The unit is easy to attach and the benefits it will provide you with are immeasurable. The water enters the water ionizer chamber and undergoes the process of electrolysis or ionization. This process causes approximately 70% of the water flowing into the ionizer to become OH- , which is alkaline water. The other approximately 30% of the water is converted to OH+ , which is acidic water. The acidic water can be collected and utilized around the house and used on plants, while the alkaline water is for drinking and cooking.

Alkaline water, produced by the water ionizer, helps to enhance the taste of food cooked in it and it enhances all the natural benefits of drinking water. Ionization also changes the molecular structure of water, leaving it with just 6 or 7 molecules per cluster as opposed to the average 12 or 13. This allows our body to become hydrated more quickly. This faster hydration helps to regulate our temperature. The alkalinity of the water can help to move our body’s pH level closer to the level that it should be.

The additional hydration of water from water ionizers can also help the digestion system to digest our food better and help our waste removal system to function better by helping the organs to function more efficiently. This allows the body to get rid of more toxins in our body, which can leave us healthier and can help us to lose weight as the high intake of ionized water has been linked to the gradual decrease in fatty deposits in the body.

A water ionizer is a good investment to make because it can eliminate the contaminants from the water flowing into your house, while also ensuring all the valuable minerals are still passed through to you. The unit is small and easy to use and the investment you make in will be repaid many times over in the benefits you receive by drinking this improved water.

Another Kind of Horse Brand: Business Branding in Equine Marketing

April 8th, 2009

It’s winter time, the breed inspection season has come and gone in North America, and along with it branding season.

Branding season for horses–NOT for horse BUSINESSES.

If you have any business or marketing background, or have done any reading on the subject, you have heard of branding in the business context. Let’s take a look at what that actually is.

Brands on horses and other livestock in the Old West showed ownership. There was some level of claiming recognition for owning a quality animal, but primarily the point was to keep livestock from being stolen. Branding helped to legally retrieve stolen livestock.

In Europe, brands on horses were not an indication of personal ownership, but rather indicated the horses’ affiliations with one of the regional registries.

That idea, which is behind modern-day branding of horses in European-affiliated breeds and some of the other breeds in North America is closer to the concept of business branding. In fact, it IS business branding for the individual horse breed.

So What is Branding Exactly?

It isn’t a string of freeze-branded symbols or a set of moose antlers or other breed symbol. Those are likened to a business logo or trademark, but those things aren’t brands in the business sense, either.

A brand on a horse signifies everything the breed represents: the quality, history, performance record, origin, and so on. A horse that carries a breed’s brand mark ostensibly possesses all of the attributes of the breed, and is theoretically capable of performing to the standard established by that breed association. For example, when you see a horse with a Holsteiner brand (assuming you have familiarity with the mark), you recognize the horse as a Holsteiner. You immediately know a little bit about the horse’s lineage, background, and the kinds of activities it might be good at.

That is why some registries require a physical inspection and approval of the individual horse before giving it a brand–the branded horse is a representative of the breed’s identity, a walking advertisement. It makes sense for the breed organization to want to control the quality of those advertisements.

Likewise, a brand is the embodiment of all the information connected with a product or service. A brand typically includes a name, logo, and other visual elements and encompasses the set of expectations associated with a product or service which typicaly arise in the minds of people. (reference: wikipedia.org).

Logos and such–like brand marks–are a shorthand symbol for the brand. Those marks are meaningless until the brand is built.

Build Your Brand from the Ground Up:

As Chevy Chase’s character, Ty Webb, says in Caddyshack, “Be the ball.” Live the brand. Branding is everything you and your business represents. You establish a brand through the quality of your horses, your competitive record, the standard of service you provide to your clients, the manner of your business dealings, trust, your reputation. A brand is a business’ identity. Consistency in all of these elements builds a brand.

Paradoxically, I am on the fence about whether to brand horses or not. Maybe just the bunny-hugger in my personality coming out, but I think branding hurts the animal.

For your horse business, definitely, branding shouldn’t hurt. It might take a little mental stretching to grasp the concept, but the actual establishment and building of your brand need not be painful.

But one thing is certain: There is no end to the branding season for businesses!

Honda Super Cub and 50cc Honda Cub - The Volkswagen Beetle of Motorcycles!

April 3rd, 2009

A very clever design: the Honda Super Cub was the combination of a moped and a scooter. It attracted many people due to its friendly and non intimidating look. People who before had felt threatened by bigger motorcycles, approached and adopted this model very quickly.

It was a versatile motorcycle and had enough power to carry two passengers or a passenger with luggage. Its large diameter tires and wide seats made the ride almost as comfortable as the touring bikes from that time.

>> Honda 50cc Cub and Super Cub FACTS

- In 1952 Honda built 7000 units of this bike which represented the 70% of the entire production of Japanese motorcycles for that year.

- Thanks to this model Honda Motorcycles were absolute market leaders during 1953 and 1954.

It’s worth mentioning that those were very competitive days. There were many manufacturers competing for a very fast growing and demanding market.

- The Honda Super Cub was the equivalent of the Ford T or the Volkswagen Beetle for automobiles. As of 1992 Honda Motorcycles had built 20 million of these machines.

- The Honda 50cc Super Cub was exported to 120 countries.

As the Volkswagen Beetle, the Honda Super Cub didn’t change much through time. Just take a look at the technical data below:
