Internet Branding

September 26th, 2008

When talking about Internet branding, positioning is the key. Positioning is the act of fixing the exact locus of the product offer in the chosen market; it decides how and around what distinctive feature the product offer has to be couched and communicated to the consumers. While positioning its product, a firm analyzes the competitor’s positions, searches its own competitive advantages and then identifies the best possible position for the product.

Product differentiation has a close link with product positioning. Product differentiation is in a way the prelude to product positioning. They are interrelated strategies and are employed in close alignment with each other. Positioning is the outcome of a conscious strategy of marketing. Positioning comes out of the marketing man’s awareness that a product cannot be ‘everything to everyone’. It can only be something to some segment. Some unique feature of the product, some unique feature of the market or some unique feature of the competition is normally isolated and around that feature the product is placed in the market.

Identifying these features imaginatively and using it as the ‘plank’ on which to pedestal the product is the essence of positioning. So, the product can be positioned against a competing brand, it can be positioned for an exclusive well-to-do segment of the market, it can be positioned for men, it can be positioned for children, it can be positioned for a health- conscious market.

The marketing man has to formulate his positioning theme right from the product idea stage. He cannot suddenly invent a positioning theme when he is ready to enter the market with his product. He should have already decided what his ‘cash on’ point should be, where he should introduce his product and for whom, and on what distinctive claim he should go around and promote his product.

How are Steroids Used?

September 22nd, 2008

Steroids are used by just about anyone who wants to increase their muscle size and strength, as well as individuals trying to lose body fat. In the past, their use was mostly seen in college, Olympic, and professional sports, but today, these drugs are being used by both competitive as well as noncompetitive athletes. Teens as young as 12-years-old have reported using these compounds. In general society, firefighters and police officers use them to better handle the daily rigors of their jobs. Bouncers and military personal use them to better prepare their bodies for combat.

Steroids are either taken orally in tablet form or injected intramuscularly. Unfortunately users rely on hearsay and gossip to determine dosage levels that may not be safe. Individuals often take megadoses of hundreds of milligrams per day, whereas medical doctors prescribe only 1 to 5 mg. per day for legitimate medical uses. Operating under the sometimes-false assumption that taking “more is better” some users typically combine many different types of steroids with other products, a phenomenon known as “stacking.” Smart users take them in “cycles” where they use the drugs for six to 12 weeks at a time alternated with periods where they “go off the juice.” This is done for a number of reasons, ranging from avoiding the building up of tolerance or passing a drug test, to running out of cash.

Hair Removal Tips For Bodybuilders

September 22nd, 2008

One of the most time consuming and frustrating parts of
bodybuilding is not building muscles, it’s removing unwanted
hair.

For any competing bodybuilder, hair removal is a must but
it’s also growing in popularity among casual bodybuilders.

Before looking at recommendations for specific body areas it
should be stated that laser hair removal or electrolysis
are
regarded as the only permanent hair removal methods.

Although the most effective, they are also the most
expensive! For full information on laser hair removal and
electrolysis, visit this Laser Research Library:
http://www.about-hair-removal.com/Laser-Library

Here is checklist of body areas and recommended hair removal
methods for each:

Upper Lip, Chin, Mustache and Beard -

Men: Shaving.

Women: Waxing or sugaring.

Back of Neck -

Men: Shaving, clipping.

Women: Waxing or sugaring

Chest -

Waxing, shaving, depilatories.

CAUTION: Some find the shaving option unacceptable due to
the irritation it causes when stubble reappears shortly
afterwards. There can also be an acute problem with ingrown
hairs in some cases. Once the shaving option is taken for
chest hair removal it will need to be done regularly.

Nipples -

Tweezing. Stretch the skin slightly, grip the hair close to
the root, and pull gently, firmly and evenly. Yanking the
hair may cause it to break off thus increasing the risk of
ingrown hair.

Shoulders, Back, Arms, Hands, Tummy -

Waxing, sugaring, depilatories. Waxing or Sugaring is the
best method for all these areas. Taking a shower directly
after waxing the back helps eliminate the possibility of
acne breakouts and skin redness.

Underarms -

Shaving is safe in this area. Hair under the arm grows in
all directions so a side to side stroke as well as up and
down strokes may be necessary to catch all the hairs. Do not
apply deodorants or antiperspirants right after shaving as
this can cause acute irritation and soreness.
Waxing or sugaring are also safe.

Do not use depilatories to avoid the risk of chemical burns
on the sensitive skin in this area.

After the skin in this area has become accustomed to
shaving, applying a thin layer of Vaseline petroleum jelly
instead of a shaving foam or gel will give a really close
shave.

Pubic Area and Bikini Line -
If the hair is long it can be cut down with scissors. Then
use a waxing or sugaring solution. Careful shaving is also
possible.

Genitals - Male -

Hair growing on the shaft of the penis and on the testicles
can be removed by shaving using a new wet razor. Great care
is needed to avoid cuts.

Genitals - Female -

Waxing or sugaring is generally best. Shaving will only
cause stubble to appear after a few days and it may cause
skin irritation and painful bumps.

Anus and Perineum -

The Perineum is the area of skin rich in nerve endings
located below the anus. In men it extends to the base of the
testicles, in women to the vaginal opening. The anus is a
mucous membrane. Depilatories should not be used as they can
result in serious damage. Shaving produces stubble which
may
cause irritation as the sides chafe and rub together. Waxing
or sugaring are the best methods.

Legs, Feet, Toes -

Shaving the legs is popular but the hair grows back after a
short time.
Waxing or sugaring are preferred although you have to wait
until there is about a quarter of an inch of growth.

Recommendation: Hair inhibitors can increase the
effectiveness of all the methods mentioned above (with the
exception of depilatories). By significantly reducing hair
growth hair removal sessions become less frequent. Click

Body Building Basics - Building a better body you can be proud of!

September 19th, 2008

There are as many varied opinions on what “plan” one should follow to build muscle, as there are people who have those opinions. On one thing they do agree, however. You must have a regimen.

You can begin by defining your objective.
Why are you interested in body building?
What do you hope to accomplish?
What is your ultimate goal?

It’s all about commitment and belief. There is an abundance of information about how to begin and conduct your journey, but without a burning desire to achieve, you are doomed to inevitable failure.

The following tips are not intended to be a “one size fits all.” Take from it what you will. In that light, consider the following list:

1.Before beginning any serious weight lifting or body building regimen, consult your physician.

2.Set your goals. Define what you expect to achieve with your new bodybuilding campaign within a realistic time frame. If you create goals that are unattainable you are setting yourself up for failure. You can become bored, disappointed and disillusioned to the point where you may give up. This is a very sad outcome to what might have been the best decision of your life. Don’t sell yourself short. Set your long-term goals, of course, but also set short-term goals that are achievable. And, don’t forget to reward yourself when you do achieve them.

3.Consider the costs. If you don’t already have a budget, create one. Then, determine what amount of discretionary funds you have available for your bodybuilding program. This will determine whether you can afford to have a home gym or if your needs would better be served by joining a club. Joining a club is still a good short-term introduction before spending hundreds or thousands of dollars on equipment that might not be appropriate for your needs.

4.Don’t forget some of the low cost alternatives to purchasing your bodybuilding equipment. If used equipment is still functional why spend the extra dollars just for a little glitz! Good, brand name used equipment is every bit as functional as something right off a showroom floor.

5.Consider combining a home gym along with a membership in a public facility. Purchase less expensive free weight equipment for use at home and join a gym to have access to the more expensive equipment. You can design your entire workout routines around a combination such as this.

6.Eat healthy! This can’t be stressed enough. The only true bodybuilding aids are good nutrition. Consult a licensed dietician. Watch your local community calendar for free seminars on diet and nutrition. Learn all you can about what nature freely provides that can help you to develop a healthy diet.

7.If you choose to use dietary supplements, make certain that you know what you are putting in your body. Follow the packaging guidelines we outlined above. Ask your physician for his/her recommendations based on the regimen you have selected. No friend, coach or acquaintance can take the place of your physician. In fact, you may even investigate finding a physician who specializes in sports wellness.

8.Be kind to yourself. Yes, it’s important to push to achieve your goals, but it’s very easy to tip the scales in the other direction and create a nightmare for yourself. Obsessive, compulsive behaviors are not conducive to a healthy bodybuilding lifestyle.

Ladies Raincoats Complete the Look

September 11th, 2008

As a fashion designer I was stumped as to what was missing with my new line. Then it hit me, I needed to design some ladies raincoats and add them to the spring line. I had never designed outer wear and by doing so I could incorporate these new coats into the existing line as outerwear that coordinates. I feel incredibly inspired and ready to get to work. Creating coats that are designed to go with my spring line will only help to increase sales. People will not be able to resist these coats nor will they be able to resist the great prices.

I have not owned a real raincoat in years but after seeing those ladies raincoats at the store the other day I have to say I am really thinking that I need one. I love the look of a man’s trench coat and the raincoats had that look but in some really col colors. Bright blues and deep greens, reds and purples. These coats were really nice and they offered removable liners for when it is not cold outside. A raincoat could be a nice “style” piece to add to my wardrobe. I think that I need to go shopping.

Why Branding?

September 10th, 2008

Having a concise, clear image that you project to your clients
and customers is important in today’s market. More and more
people are leaving the job market and creating their own
business, whether by choice or necessity, so the competition
continues to expand. Therefore it is increasingly important to
stand out among your competition. You want your business to be
memorable!

Customers remember images and feelings that are evoked more
than just a name on a business card. What type of feeling do you
want your business to evoke in your customers / clients? How do
you want to be remembered? Do you want to be the first one your
customer thinks about over your competition? Of course you do.
But what do you want to be remembered for?

•Your excellent customer service?
•Your winning smile?
•Your product?
•Your prices?
•Your logo?

How are you different from your competition? What makes your
business special? Ask yourself these questions and then look at
the answers. Maybe you are already projecting a particular
image. It is cohesive, or is it sloppy? Do you even have an
image? Do you have a brand name? Do you have any sort of
identity?

What about your services? Does each one have a different
look, feel and image, or does it tie into the image of your
business? Can you look at your services and see the brand name,
image or theme running through each description? Choosing to use
the same logo on all your materials, sticking with a consistent
color theme and playing off a specific theme is part of branding.

For example, a recent episode of Taking Care of Business on
TLC television highlighted a company that custom designed baby
gift baskets. Their logo, color scheme and theme were brought
together to expand their image. The professional business
mentors assisted the owner with creating press releases and media
kits for his baby company that were done like birth
announcements. This created visual interest, continued the theme
of the company and along with the logo and color consistency, the
branding was top notch. As a result, he had several articles
written about his business in key magazines that target his
specific market.

What about your company? Does your image reflect your
product? Do your customers recognize you by your business name
or a product name? Are you consistent with your marketing
message? These are ALL important questions whether you are
starting a business or looking to expand your existing business.
So, ask the questions, listen to the answers and create a plan
for branding your business!

Brand You to Stand out and Shine

September 7th, 2008

Personal branding is important to stand out from the crowd. Essentially branding is a function of public relations. And public relations is “relationships” with your “public”. So here’s some tips on how to Brand You … to Stand out and Shine.

* Do a personal audit to determine your values and vision, your future goals and strengths for you and your company. Defining who you are aligns with your deepest passions. A clue to discovering the feeling or emotion of who you are is to identify where you are and what you are doing that makes you truly happy. For me it’s swimming in the ocean, feeling the warmth of the sun, the colours of sunset and sunrise over the ocean, those feelings and colours help me to shine.

* What do people say about you, how do they perceive you? Pay attention to how others describe you when they introduce you and how they treat you. Are you described as fun loving, compassionate, professional or creative? Do these descriptions align with your values and what you stand for?

* What sets you apart from the crowd, what is your unique “shining” point? What achievements and accomplishments, dreams or desires reveal the emotional, inner side of you and how do you promote that side of you. Customers and clients want to feel they know and trust you enough to do business with you.

* Take a look at some of the outside factors that represent your personal brand, such as the company you work for or the company you keep. Who are your friends, alliances and partners? What networking groups do you belong to?

* Your business tools also say a lot: find one look or message that describes your business and stick with it. Use the same colour scheme, fonts and design throughout your marketing materials, business cards, letterhead and website. Pay attention to your email messages and voice mail messages.

* Your dress and appearance plays an important part in how others see you. Develop a picture file of looks you like that reflects your emotional side and uniqueness. Start to build a wardrobe showing your style but also appropriate for the work you do and image you’d like to project. Buy the best quality you can afford and make sure your clothing fits well.

* Little things like quality accessories also play a part in your personal packaging. Note quality leather shoes, bags, watch, jewellery and pen. Take care of personal appearance including grooming and appropriate hairstyle.

* Personal manner also plays a part in how others perceive you. Be aware of plus and minus personality traits such as self confidence level, your way of talking, manners and social skills.

* Your surroundings and environment project who you are also. You want your business to leave the right impression on your clients, customers, employees and all visitors. Does your desk, signage and place of business reflect an image of efficiency, quality, professionalism and hospitality? Does Brand You say your business is the best?

Dear Affiliate Manager, Can you Make that Brandable?

September 6th, 2008

Question: Why are my affiliates asking for brandable reports? How am I supposed to manage that?

Dear Affiliate Manager,

What tools are you providing to your affiliates? If it’s just a standard button or text link, you’re only doing half your job. Not only is it less productive for you to have a group of affiliates half-interested in promoting your product, but it’s just irresponsible to have an affiliate program without helping your affiliates to make money.

You heard me. I’m sick and tired of it and I’m speaking my mind.

Help me… to help you. Affiliate marketing is supposed to be win-win. So, let’s work together on this to make us both some money.

My favorite affiliate programs provide many free tools. All things the same, I’ll promote an affiliate program that looks like they care more than one that isn’t even trying, because, to me, it is a reflection on their overall quality.

Perhaps it’s because I’m a woman. I like to build relationships. I like to feel appreciated.

And, of course, I’m in affiliate marketing because I want to make money! So, when I find an affiliate program that offers a brandable free report that I can share with my subscribers, promote a great product and make money in the process? Score!

Now, don’t insult my intelligence by packaging up some random articles that have nothing to do with anything and telling me it’s an ebook. Don’t give me junk. First of all, you’re representing your quality, and I’m representing mine. So, give me something good. A quality report or ebook, with a great preview of your product and what you offer.

My readers will be loyal, and so will I.

Do you want a loyal army of affiliates? Walk a mile in their shoes. Why did they sign up for your affiliate program? Because they believe in your products. Treat them well, and you’ll have loyalty that you can’t buy at any price.
